Quality Assurance Analyst

Remote - DALLAS, TX

We are looking for a Quality Assurance Analyst to join a specialty insurance company built on experience.  This position is responsible for the overall quality of our underwriting systems.  The scope of this role includes the comprehensive aspects of quality including testing documentation, planning and execution of testing, testing validation, and coordinating UAT testing and approval.  In their role, the Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the product meets business requirements and overall business objectives by tracking and reporting quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status, as well as documenting problems and communicating the issue to development staff to assist in their resolution.

Key Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute test cases based on project requirements and objectives
  • Provide guidance and documentation to support user acceptance testing
  • Provide system training, support, and release documentation on functionality
  • Responsible for triaging production issues to analyze, reproduce and escalate for resolution
  • Serves as a technical liaison between the business unit to investigate requests, and facilitate the proper use of systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Extensive knowledge of software and database testing including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored jobs and error replication
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with bug-tracking tools such as JIRA
  • Experience with databases and QA automation tools desired
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Requires strong oral and written communication skills
  • Requires close attention to detail
  • Must be able to collaborate cross-functionally with other teams and team members

Education and Experience Required:

  • Associate’s degree/Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent required
  • 5 years of experience as an analyst preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in a commercial insurance environment highly preferred
